Our Academy had very little structure until Football Asia consultants undertook an audit which included internal assessment, observations and analysis of our current situation. We were provided with a very detailed report highlighting how to significantly improve each aspect of the Academy. We worked very closely with their highly skilled football professionals to co-create progressive packages and shape the services we needed in order of priority for the Hong Kong market. Thanks to Football Asia’s upgrade we now have one of the best District Academy set ups in Hong Kong and will be striving for further improvements.
The Academy made huge strides in several departments managing to reach all KPI’s that had been set. Over a two year period there was a significant staffing restructure with clear roles and responsibilities assigned. An Academy blueprint containing our tailor made mission, vision, values, playing philosophy, DNA and curriculum has all been successfully implemented. The results speak for themselves we have had more transitions from the Academy to the first team in this period than the last five years which is exactly we had desired.
Football Asia organised high profile Coach Education Workshops on a regular basis that not only raised awareness but also played a big part in attracting better coaches and player’s that has helped us to create an affiliation with the local community. Individual Coach development and mentoring has helped to raise the standard of our coaches as they have learned to conduct higher quality sessions, document and record progress both quarterly and annually.
Our Academy coaches are very fortunate as they have been handed the opportunity to further their football development on the highly prestigious UEFA Coaching courses in the UK. I would strongly recommend the Upgrade package to any emerging, developing or established Academy across Asia.
Football Asia helped to arrange all aspects of my Coach Education Workshop delivery with KC Southern District Football Club in Hong Kong. From the moment I arrived at the airport to the moment I departed every single aspect of my stay was catered for. I thoroughly enjoyed delivering a Coach Education Workshop in Hong Kong to a group of hugely enthusiastic Academy Coaches. The workshop on the pros and cons of different tactical formations triggered lots of interaction with the coaches who were fully co-operating and engaging. Every aspect of my trip from the airport pick up, the hotel, food and hospitality that I experienced was truly fantastic and I am looking forward to returning to East Asia in future.
I have been very fortunate to receive one to one mentoring and coach education from a UEFA Pro License holder. The level of detail required to conduct an effective training session has been a real eye opener. I have learned so much in such a short space of time and have developed my own coaching style in order to produce better players. I receive regular feedback from Zesh and he is always on hand to answer my endless questions. I hope to pass on what I have learned with fellow peers and coaches to improve the standards of football in Hong Kong.
We worked closely with all Academy coaching staff at KC Southern District FC from the Foundation phase, Youth Development phase and Professional Development Phase conducting individual and group meetings.
The purpose of the meetings were to explain the annual performance review form, coach competency framework and set targets for the coming season. The passion and enthusiasm amongst the coaches was amazing to to witness, all staff adopted a very positive approach to continue their professional development. KC Southern has earned a reputation as one of the best run Academies in Hong Kong, the Academy has met all KPI’s in the past two seasons.

Football Asia CEO Zesh Rehman spent several days with the coaches educating them On the talent development models And best practices used to help Players from Shahzan Muda FC make the transition to partner Club Pahang FA of the Malaysia Super league. The workshop took place at the Darulmakmur Stadium, the home of Malaysia Super League giants Pahang FA.
Football Asia Coach Educators spent 5 days on the east coast of Malaysia working with Pahang FA coaches from youth team to First team level. Sessions were conducted with the youth teams on the following topics:
Coaching plans were shared with all coaches and feedback was provided via translators to ensure the information was being received and understood appropriately.
Football Asia helped three coaches from Hong Kong successfully complete the UEFA B Licence during the 2018-2019 season.
Our services ensured the candidates were made to feel welcome on the course and had access to coach educators who Went beyond the call of duty. They all successfully passed their UEFA B Licence and return to Hong Kong more knowledgeable and better equipped to coach the next generation of talent in East Asia.
